EUR 16 billion Space Programme from EU to boost the European space know-how

For the next long-term EU budget 2021-2027, the Commission is proposing to devote EUR 16 billion to help maintain and further enhance the EU’s leadership in space. Space technology, data and services have become indispensable in the daily lives of Europeans and for Europe to pursue its strategic interests. The EU has a strong edge in space activities and the European space industry is one of the most competitive. The new EU Space Programme will invest more in space activities, adapting to new needs and technologies, while reinforcing Europe’s autonomous access to space.
