GeoForum Summit 2026

GeoForum Summit is a free-of-charge event organised annually by GeoForum Finland. It brings together experts and top experts in the field, companies working with geospatial data, citizens interested in geospatial data topics and students in the field.
The aim of the event is to highlight the latest trends in the field of geospatial data and the latest research results. This year's main themes are:

The space and geospatial sectors are deeply interconnected: satellite-generated data forms a cornerstone of modern geospatial information. Remote sensing, positioning services, and satellite imaging provide real-time insights into land use, climate change, and infrastructure. In Finland, the space industry has grown significantly, further strengthening this connection.
Advancements in space technology are enabling increasingly precise and accessible geospatial services. In turn, the geospatial sector refines space-derived data to support decision-making and sustainable development.
The event is suitable for anyone interested in geospatial data who wants more information on how geospatial data is used in society. The expert seminar, briefings, workshops and a two-day geospatial data exhibition, which are open to everyone and free of charge, include use cases and presentations from the most interesting actors in the field of geospatial data.
