The European Space Agency has a wide network of business incubation centres (BIC) around Europe. One of these is in Finland, located in Espoo and Turku.
Their mission is to help startups to find their potential in the space industry.
Space industry is traditionally risk-averse and ran by big players. It can be intimidating for a startup, but with the help, seed money and contacts provided by the BIC, raising further funding and getting technical and business support is easier. ESA BIC assists entrepreneurs and startups to reveal their full space potential.
In addition ESA BIC introduces new technologies to the ESA and its partner network or transfers existing ESA space technologies to terrestrial uses, whether consumer, business or both.
The special focuses of the ESA BIC Finland are environmental and societal issues.
