ESA's innovation programme supports the commercialisation of space activities in Finland

The ESA Phi-Lab Finland innovation programme started its operations at the beginning of 2025, making Finland the second Nordic country to have its own ESA Phi-Lab. The programme is operated in Finland by Aalto University in cooperation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute and the University of Vaasa.

The ESA Phi-Lab, which has now been established in Finland, is part of a wider European network of Phi-Labs that supports the commercialisation of space-related innovations together with other programmes included in the European Space Agency's ScaleUp programme.

More detailed information on ESA Phi-Lab Finland's application, themes and selection criteria can be found on the project's website.
