CASSINI Hackathon is an EU-wide idea competition that will be held for the tenth time at the beginning of November. This autumn, the local organiser in Finland is Helsinki Think Company, the entrepreneurial community of the University of Helsinki.

CASSINI challenges participants to use space technology and data to come up with new kinds of solutions tailored to consumers. The theme of the Hackathon is "EU Space for Consumer Experience" and it is divided into three challenges, from which participants can choose the one they like. The challenges focus on immersive game development, sports and tourism. The idea of the challenges is to utilise satellite data, for example, as a basis for ideas generated in the competition.

CASSINI is primarily intended for university students and recent graduates, but anyone interested in the subject can apply. You can apply for the Hackathon alone or with a ready-made team - individual participants will be formed into teams on the first day of the competition. During the Hackathon, the competitors will receive mentoring and sparring from experts in different fields.

The winning team of the Hackathon will receive a cash prize of €5,000. In addition, the top three teams will receive six months of mentoring assistance from CASSINI's experts to further develop their ideas. In addition, each organising country will offer the winners local prizes, which will be published later.

The Hackathon will be held with a hybrid model from 7 to 9 November 2025 at Terkko Health Hub, Helsinki (Haartmaninkatu 4).

The application period for the CASSINI Hackathon ends on 31 October.
