Government appoints Finnish Space Committee

On 18 August 2022, the Government appointed the Finnish Space Committee for the term of 6 September 2022–5 September 2025. The committee guides and directs the implementation of the national space strategy.

The committee develops the sector’s operating environment and promotes the preconditions for space business and research. The committee also participates in the preparation of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) ministerial meetings and the EU’s space-related matters at national level. Finally, the committee promotes the visibility and communication in the space sector. 

Director-General Ilona Lundström from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment chairs the committee, which includes representation from the industry, key ministries and research institutes.
